“When I approach a child, he inspires in me two sentiments, tenderness for what he is, and respect for what he may become.” – Louis Pasteur –
Children love to draw, and their work is a reflection of their inner world. By getting children to draw a picture of a garden it can reveal the dynamics of the family and how the child perceives things. The drawings reveal a lot of information about their feelings, relationships they have with people around them, self-esteem etc. and by translating them it can help the parent understand where the problems lie. The drawings will shows areas of strengths as well as areas of weakness in the child and the family and these are important to recognize and validate. It is through their drawings that children express the views and interpretations of their experiences.
